Ms. Vimlesh Brijwall, Secretary, Megh Mandal Sansthan.

Ms. Vimlesh Brijwall serves as the Secretary of Megh Mandal Sansthan, holding the institutional responsibility of guiding the Megh Mandal’s cultural mission and translating its vision into action.

As Secretary, she leads the Megh Mandal’s flagship initiative, “Chitranjali” “Raja Ravi Varma Chitrakar Samman Samaroh”, overseeing its direction from concept to ceremony: identifying and honouring painters whose work carries forward India’s artistic traditions, and ensuring the programme remains true to the spirit in which it was conceived — a tribute to a great artistic legacy, and an honour to the artists who keep it alive today.

Beyond Chitranjali, her role encompasses the Megh Mandal’s wider cultural mandate — shaping its exhibitions, its outreach to artists and cultural organisations across India, and its long-term efforts to place Raja Ravi Varma’s legacy, and Indian art heritage more broadly, before both national and international audiences.

Under her leadership, the Megh Mandal Sansthan continues to build partnerships across the country’s art community connecting artists, institutions, cultural bodies and audiences around a shared commitment to preserving and celebrating India’s painting traditions.

In her own words, on the purpose behind this work

“Our objective is to ensure that Indian art and culture are not confined to museums and books alone, but reach the wider public the artists of today, and the generations still to come.”

Vimlesh Brijwall

Honouring the past is meaningful only when it actively serves the present.

Vimlesh stewardship of the Megh Mandal Sansthan reflects a conviction that runs through all its programmes: encouraging living artists, engaging young audiences, and keeping India’s artistic heritage part of an ongoing, unfinished story rather than a closed chapter.
